Morning Devotional 020823 As Far As the Eye Can See

Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

February 8, 2023

Read Colossians 4:1-3

1 Therefore, if you were raised with Christ, look for the things that are above where Christ is sitting at God’s right side. 2 Think about the things above and not things on earth. 3 You died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.

Good Morning, All things bright and beautiful, the Lord God made them all!

As I look at the beautiful sky this morning, I see bands of color etched with intricate designs as they stretch infinitely across the horizon. Each morning you create a new masterpiece to remind us that you are with us, now and always: past, present, and future.

The splendor before me causes me to up and imagine the glory of eternal life.

All who look to you are blessed with glimpses of Your glory that are revealed to us as we are ready to see. Because our only rules of measure are based upon earthly standards, we cannot fathom the completeness of what awaits us in eternity. For now, you continue to bless us with glimmers of hope as we see your majesty working among us.

Each of us, Your children, is a result of your handiwork. You formed us, you provide for us, and you lift us up so that we may be joined together in all things and in all times. May we never lose sight of our unique gifts as we present your love and mercy to the world. We are made beautiful by the Holy Spirit working within us.

Loving God, Thank You for being with us. Help us to show the world your glory as we let Your light shine through us. Thank you! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: Each of us is amazing because we are God’s beautiful handiwork.

Embrace God’s love! Pastor Liz
